Must Eats In Rome

I’ve written a whole blog post about how I think Rome is underrated as a city, but I can admit that the food lives up to the hype.

So here are my must eats for your next trip to Rome, Italy:

Pizza + Pasta

Pizzeria da Baffetto — very popular, CASH ONLY!

Cantina e Cucina — get spaghetti carbonara

433 — tonnarelli gricia with truffle was the best thing I ate in Rome; speghetti and lasgna are also very good

Nerone — get the carbonara

Rotonda — get the carbonara and the florentina steak!

Gelato

Gelateria Valentino — my personal favorite

Frigidarium — “best gelato”, always a line

Venchi — gelato and chocolate

Cafe

Sant’eustachio II Cafe — local-recommended cafe

Bar Frattina — near Spanish steps

Drinks

Blackmarket Hall — go inside and downstairs

The St. Regis Hotel — beautiful, historic and good (expensive!) drinks

Honorary Mention

Mercato Centrale Rome — glorified food court with good restaurants

Recs I’ve Received But Haven’t Eaten At

Hosteria del Mercato 1870 — Brioche con la crema e fragole

Vrindaa — italian and indian fusion, also plant-based

Oro Bistro — view overlooking ruins and Piazza Venezia

Ristorante Pietro Valentiti
