The Candler Hotel Is a Historic Atlanta Gem

I find myself in Atlanta about once a year, so I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Midtown, Downtown, and in Buckhead. Without a doubt, the Candler Hotel is my favorite.

The Candler Building is on the National Register of Historic Places and was built by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler. The boutique hotel has a beautiful mix of modern elements and vintage charm. It has similar vibes to the Four Seasons Atlanta, but a little more old Hollywood glam.

On top of that, it’s conveniently located in a central downtown spot on Peachtree St, making it accessible to any part of the city’s attractions. Overlooking Woodruff Park, this chic hotel gives you everything you want when staying in a big city.

I’ve stayed here a couple times now and it will now be the only spot I rest my head in Atlanta.

And whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, I can attest that the Candler Hotel is a must stay. So let’s dive a little deeper…

Location = 5

This probably depends on where you’re spending most of your time in Atlanta, but as someone who spends most of their time downtown, in midtown or sometimes up in Buckhead, this central location is ideal.

It’s also and easy drive or Uber from the airport, independent of any traffic of course.

Service = 5

I have zero complaints. There is a doorman that will greet you upon arrival and help with your bags. Check-in is always friendly and efficient. And, in general, everyone seems happy to see you and makes you feel welcome as a valued guest.

Rooms = 4.5

I’ve stayed in both the general guest room and in a suite. Both are very spacious and comfortable. They have all been renovated relatively recently with modern elements, but it still feels true to the historic charm of the building.

Food = 4

By George is on site and I’d recommend for people who also aren’t staying at the hotel. Food is certainly above average and had an enjoyable ambiance. The one restaurant option is satisfactory for a hotel in the heart of a city.

Amenities = 3

This is the only area where the hotel potentially lacks. Although, note that it is a hotel and not a resort. I’d love to enjoy a spa.

  • Fitness Center (with Pelotons!)

  • On-site Restaurant and In-room Dining

Have you stayed at the Candler Hotel before? Or is it somewhere you may like to visit on your next trip to the A?

Signed,
