Forget the St. Regis, Stay At the Aleph Rome

On my 10-day trip to Rome, I didn’t listen to any of the recommendations from friends on where to stay and instead followed my gut, choosing the Aleph. This 5-star hotel doesn’t get as much press as some of its equals around the city, but it definitely should.

Location = 5

This location was great. It’s near Villa Borghese and just a few blocks from the St. Regis Hotel, another popular 5-star hotel. I started nearly every day with a walk — either to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Pantheon or sometimes a combination of multiple. I found the area very walkable and safe. I would happily stay here again if I ever visit again. There is also an airport shuttle if needed.

Service = 4.5

The service was great! I didn’t give a 5 because I didn’t feel like it was the best I’ve had compared to other places, but I can say that every experience with someone who worked there was pleasant. I also did not spend a lot of time in the hotel, so my interactions were limited. No complaints though.

Rooms = 5

The room I stayed in was gorgeous. I highly recommend spending a little more to stay in the King Prestige Room with a Terrace or really any room/suite with a terrace. The terrace was LARGE and was nice to have the extra space to make the room feel even bigger. The bathroom was also large and clean.

Food = 4

To be honest, most of my meals were outside of the hotel. However, the breakfast buffet was solid with a lot of variety. I was also here over Easter and had an Easter lunch on the rooftop, which was a 5-course meal and rather delicious. In addition, I snacked at the bar one afternoon, where I enjoyed a Caprese salad and chocolate dessert with a glass of Cab.

Amenities = 4

As I mentioned before, I spent A LOT of time outside of the hotel, so I did not enjoy the amenities that they offer very much. I do think it’s smart to not offer TOO many things since Rome is such a touristy city and guests will likely be like me and not stay in the hotel much. I feel like what they offer is appropriate and definitely high quality.

Spa - I did not partake in spa activities here, but it does have one! It iincludes a Hammam, Finnish sauna, Jacuzzi, fitness room, and private treatment rooms. They also offer hair treatments.

Pool - On the rooftop. An enjoyable time and a nice place to relax after a long day exploring the city.

Fitness Center - I did not visit it based on the fact that all the walking around the city was my exercise for the trip.

Is this somewhere you’d stay while visiting Rome? Leave a comment and let me know.

Signed,
